MECS EARTH DAY: DID YOU KNOW?
In honor of Earth Day, MECS would like to share some information about waste on our planet and some small things you can do to help reduce your footprint and promote sustainability.
Did you Know, that only 15% of used clothes in the U.S. are reused, the other 85% are thrown away and headed straight for the landfill or incinerator, to be forgotten about. This way of throwing away clothes can contribute to pollution and clogging of waterways, as well as climate change. Though, you yourself can help boost the amount of clothes to be recycled and reduce the amount of clothes that end up in landfills. On the North side of Warren O’Plaine campus, we have a donation box that allows you to donate and recycle your used clothes. Ask Mr. Boncher for more information. (Boncher)
