DEMOCRACY CLUB

Ready to create meaningful change in our community? Democracy Schools is kicking off the school year with our very first meeting this Thursday from 3:20 PM to 4:00 PM in Room 304A. This year, our focus is all about hands-on community impact, connecting you directly with local volunteer opportunities and actionable projects. Whether you want to jump into a practical project, learn how to take action, or simply see how you can make a difference, all are welcome! (Bohorquez)

CREATIVE WRITING CLUB

BOYS WATER POLO

There will be an informational meeting on Thursday, September 17th at 3:30 p.m. in the Blue Devils Den at the O’Plaine Campus for anyone interested in playing on the boys water polo team this spring. We will discuss off-season workouts, preparing for the spring season, and what to expect from the program. No prior experience is necessary, and new players are encouraged to attend. SCIENCE OLYMPIAD INFORMATIONAL MEETING

If you are looking to have fun and test your science and engineering skills against other schools, Science Olympiad is for you.  There are events that cover a broad range of science and engineering topics including Biology, Earth and Space Science, Chemistry, Physics, Robotics, Programming, CAD, and Civil, Mechanical, and Electrical Engineering.  If you are interested in science or engineering and want to expand your knowledge and skills while competing against other schools, please attend the No Commitment Informational Meeting this Thursday, September 17 at 3:30 in Room 300 at O’Plaine.  Late bus passes will be available.  If you have questions or cannot make the meeting, contact Coach Olson at golson@wths.net or Coach Gray at jgray@wths.net.  (Olson)

NSC NCAA NIGHT

Attention College-Bound Athletes…Thinking about playing a sport competitively in college? If so, you are invited to attend the North Suburban Conference NCAA Night this Thursday, Sept. 17 at 7 pm at Vernon Hills High School. You can expect to gain insight on recruiting, NCAA eligibility requirements advice from experts on determining best fit for college athletics. Prospective college athletes in grades 9 - 12 are encouraged to attend with their family. The sooner you can start planning, the better! (Goles)

SPEECH TEAM AUDITIONS

Got something to say? Looking to strengthen your acting and/or public speaking skills? Come be a part of an award-winning competitive activity-- Speech Team! No experience? No problem! Been acting since you were five? Awesome!  Speech Team is made up of 14 different events, so there is something for everyone. Auditions are coming up on Wednesday, September 30th, but grab an audition packet in the Student Services office for audition selections and more information about the team. The FBLA September General Meeting is today, Wednesday, September 16th at 7pm in the O'plaine Cafeteria.  Come hear about what our organization and school has to offer for Business.  The theme is color wars, so Seniors wear Blue, Juniors wear Pink, Sophomores wear red, and Freshmen wear green.  Hope to see you there! WARREN AMBASSADORS & BRING CHANGE TO MIND

Warren Ambassadors and Bring Change to Mind will be partnering up this year to empower a healthy relationship with mental health through awareness and fun de-stress activities! Our first meeting is this Thursday, September 17th at 3:25pm in the Blue Devils Den at the O'Plaine campus.  We will be making stress balls and learning more about how to manage stress.  All are welcome! Join us for the next Tabletop Gaming Club meeting today, Wednesday at 3:20 in the O'Plaine Library. This meeting will be the second round of voting for this year's custom dice blend. COLLEGE FINANCIAL AID PRESENTATION FOR GRADUATING STUDENTS

Are you wondering how to pay for college? Do you know how to complete a financial aid application to receive scholarships, grants, and possible student loans? Then plan to attend our annual Paying for College Presentation for senior families today, Wednesday September 16th at 7pm in the O'Plaine Auditorium. Remember, FAFSA opens this year on October 1st, so come get information to be prepared for that piece of the process! (Goles)

CLC APPLICATION HELP

SENIORS! Are you thinking of taking classes at CLC at some point this spring, summer or next year? Then plan to stop by the College and Career Center during periods 3-6 on Friday, September 18th to complete your application! Bring your Chromebook and Social Security number (if applicable) to apply to your first college and learn the next steps.  It only takes about 15 minutes and the earlier you apply, the better! Our CLC rep, Ms. Rovik, will be available to answer your CLC specific questions. (Goles)

BRADLEY UNIVERSITY COLLEGE VISIT

Bradley University will be visiting the Almond Campus on Thursday September 17th during Period 5.  Register in SchooLinks to sign up, this is a great opportunity to meet with a college rep! (Goles)

DAILY LOANER CHROMEBOOKS

Hispanic Heritage Month starts on September 15th, and we are excited to celebrate together! To kick off the festivities, we invite you to wear your favorite jersey next week on Tuesday, September 15. Bonus points if the jersey is from a Spanish-speaking country or city. Be on the lookout for other announcements from Warren's cultural clubs for fun facts and ways to celebrate throughout the month. If you're planning to attend college and neither of your parents completed a college degree, then YOU are considered First-Generation or First-Gen!  Do you have many questions about the process?  Then plan to attend our I’m First workshop today, Monday, September 14th. during 3rd period in the Almond College and Career Center.  Topics include navigating college applications, college visits, the PSAT, SAT and more!  Both Junior and Senior students are welcome to attend! GIRLS BASKETBALL MORNING OPEN GYM / CONDITIONING

Attention all girls interested in playing girls basketball! Morning open gyms/conditionings will start on Thursday, September 10th from 6:00-7:00 a.m. at the Almond gym. Open gyms/conditionings will be held every Thursday with more being offered closer to the season. There is an activity bus that will take you from Almond to O'Plaine. CEC WELCOME MEETING!

The Council for Exceptional Children Club is happy to be hosting a Welcome Meeting! CEC is all about bringing students with and without disabilities together to hang out, make friends, and have fun. Our goal is simple: create a space where everyone feels included, accepted, and valued. We will be having our first CEC informational and planning meeting today, Thursday, September 10th at 2:30 pm in Almond Room 320. Come hear about the club and be part of planning the fun!
