Did you know the French gave us several everyday items we use? They invented the first practical pencil sharpener, the hairdryer, the stethoscope, and even the principle of canning food to preserve it for long-term storage. From the classroom to the kitchen to the doctor’s office, the French-speaking world has you covered.  Thank you for helping us celebrate National French Week at Warren. We hope you have learned a little bit about the French-speaking world. Merci et au revoir!(A. Mason)

NATIONAL FRENCH WEEK

We hope you have been enjoying the French music in the hallway for National French Week.  In a tie-in to the recent news, today’s fact is about the daring jewel heist at the Louvre. Despite the Mission Impossible-style planning, the thieves made a surprisingly clumsy mistake. As they escaped, they dropped the most valuable jewel they stole--the priceless Crown of Empress Eugénie--on the street outside! It was recovered, and although damaged, it helped lead investigators to the suspects. (A. Mason)

NATIONAL FRENCH WEEK

Here’s your National French Week question for today: What country has the most time zones in the world? Is it Russia? The U.S.? Nope! It’s France, with 12 different time zones! It's proof that the French flag truly circles the globe! (A. Mason)
