WINTER DANCE (FORMERLY KNOWN AS TURNABOUT)

Head Downtown with the Devils to the CityScapes Winter Dance. Formerly known as Turnabout the dance will be on Saturday, February 8 from 6:30-9:00 at the Almond Campus. Tickets are $15 and will be available to purchase online from January 23 until 4pm on February 6. (Desiron)

INTERNATIONAL CLUB’S LUNAR NEW YEAR MEETING

International club will be hosting their Lunar New Year meeting on Wednesday January 22nd from 3:30 to 4:15pm. Come learn about the history of lunar new year while eating some delicious food and making crafts.  Bring a friend and late bus passes will be provided. (Bohorquez)

THE CREATIONS DEADLINE IS COMING UP

Submit your art, literature, music, and film to Creations by Feb. 28th.  This is your chance to have your work published in an award winning magazine!  You have the option to be published anonymously so don't hesitate to share your work with us.  Submission forms are on the Creations homepage or find a flier around the school.  Email creations@wths.net if you have any questions.(Knutson)

FRENCH HONOR SOCIETY

The French Honor Society invites all French students to an Open House on Thursday, Jan. 23 from 3:20-4:10 p.m.  Join us in the Blue Devils Den at the O'Plaine campus to meet our members, learn how to join and what we do in our Society.  Late bus passes will be provided. (Mason)

GIRL’S LACROSSE OPEN GYM

Girls Lacrosse is hosting another Open Gym this Thursday from 3:30-5pm! Meet us on the second floor of the O'Plaine Campus. No experience is required to join in and learn the sport of lacrosse before our Spring season. Bring a mouth guard and running shoes! (Schultz)

BOYS WATER POLO

Attention Boys Water Polo players or anyone interested in trying out for the Boys Water Polo  team:  Please come to the Lecture Hall right after school on Wednesday, January 22 to meet with our new coaches for this season. They will be here to give you all of the information you need to tryout for Boys Water Polo this spring. If you are currently on the Boys Swim team you should still attend. BOYS WATER POLO

Attention Boys Water Polo players or anyone interested in trying out for the Boys Water Polo  team:  Please come to the Lecture Hall right after school on Wednesday, January 22 to meet with our new coaches for this season. They will be here to give you all of the information you need to tryout for Boys Water Polo this spring. If you are currently on the Boys Swim team you should still attend. You will be let out early so you can make it to practice by 4:00 p.m. Everyone else will be out in time for the late bus at 4:30 p.m. (Ms. Lonigro)

Are you interested in exploring Historically Black Colleges & Universities? Warren is partnering with Waukegan High School to host an HBCU College Fair at Waukegan High School’s Washington Campus on Thursday, February 13. Students interested in attending can pick up a field trip permission slip from Mrs. Ellis or Ms. Hartley (at O’Plaine) and Mrs. Maggiore or Mrs. McGahan (at Almond). Space is limited, so don't delay! GIRLS TRACK AND FIELD

Attention all girls interested in joining the Girls Track and Field program for this upcoming season: registration is open! Tryouts and the season start date is Tuesday, January 21st at the Almond Campus. If you are interested in joining, please complete the registration through the WTHS athletic website. All athletes must have an active physical on file with the school nurse at either the O’Plaine or Almond campus and meet eligibility requirements. If you have any questions you can contact Coach Malkowski.

WTHS is hosting a 2025 ASVAB for interested sophomore, junior or senior students on Saturday, February 1 at 9:00 a.m. in room 211 at the Almond Campus. The ASVAB test produces Career Exploration Scores that can aid in the exploration of a wide variety of career options and can be used as a military entrance test for interested students. This computer-based test is offered at no cost and no obligation to our students. Please sign-up in Schoolinks if you would like to take this free assessment. Learn from a college admissions representative how to begin your college search, what they look for in an applicant and what you can do NOW to enhance your future resume and college applications. Interested WTHS Sophomores and their families are highly encouraged to attend. This is the perfect opportunity to get started and get many of your college questions answered. Consider yourself one step ahead in the college planning process if you attend this beneficial night - hope to see you there! (Hartley)

Attention all student athletes interested in joining the Boys Track and Field program for this upcoming season: registration is open! Tryouts and the season start date is January 21st. There will be 2 preseason meetings taking place today, Thursday, January 16th. There will be one after school in room 312 at the Almond campus. There will be a second meeting at the O’Plaine campus in the cafeteria near the windows starting at 3:25pm; late bus passes will be provided. Would you like more information on how you can do all of this while helping out your community? E-Sports is back and welcoming gamers of all skill levels! Did you know colleges are offering more scholarships than ever before for playing video games? Come to our first general meeting of the semester to learn more about the upcoming season with game titles including Black Ops 6, Apex Legends, Overwatch 2, Smash Bros, Pokemon Unite, and more.
