About
Student Services Teams
Each student at Warren Township High School is assigned to a Student Services Team (SST). Each team consists of a psychologist, dean, social worker and counselors.
There are many ways to reach SST members including:
- Email: Links to contact SST members by email can be found on the side bar of this page
- Telephone Message: SST members will return your voice message within 24 to 48 hours
- Individual Appointment Requests (for students): Students can request an appointment with their counselor, social worker, or dean by using the “request an appointment” tab.

*If there is an emergency during the school day (a crisis or safety situation), please go to Student Services immediately and let someone know that you need to talk to a social worker right away.

Personal Boundaries and Anger Management |
In a world where stressors can often push our emotional boundaries, it's essential for high school students to understand the importance of setting and respecting personal boundaries while managing anger in a healthy way. The "Personal Boundaries and Anger Management" support group is designed to provide students with a safe and nurturing environment where they can explore and develop these crucial life skills. |

Cultural Awareness and Inclusion (EL newcomers) |
Navigating the complexities of high school life as an English Learner (EL) can be both enriching and challenging. In our "Cultural Awareness and Inclusion for EL" support group, we recognize the diverse backgrounds and unique experiences that EL students bring to our school community. This group is dedicated to fostering cultural awareness, celebrating diversity, and providing academic support to ensure the academic success of our EL students. |

O'Plaine Newcomer Group |
To empower English Learners by cultivating cultural awareness, celebrating their unique identities, and ensuring they receive the targeted academic tools and resources necessary to successfully navigate high school and thrive as engaged members of our community. |

Goal-Setting for Boys |
We recognize that every student is unique, and this support group is tailored specifically to address the academic needs of male students who may be facing challenges in their high school journey. We understand that academic engagement is crucial for success, and our goal is to empower these students to thrive academically while building confidence and a sense of purpose. |

Empower (Girl's group) |
At our high school, we recognize the unique challenges that girls face during their adolescent years. The "Empower" support group is a safe and supportive space designed to help young girls build emotional regulation skills and boost their self-esteem. Our mission is to foster emotional resilience, promote self-confidence, and empower each participant to thrive personally and academically. |

Elevate |
The support group is designed for the very at-risk, severely credit deficient senior to improve academic performance to meet graduation requirements. To help students understand the connection between meeting graduation requirements and developing their own post secondary vocational planning goals. Students will be able to experience an increase in self-efficacy, attendance, and engagement leading to an increase in academic success as measured by the completion of required coursework for graduation. |

Transfer/New Student |
This group is designed for students who are transferring to or are new to Warren and need assistance with connecting to the Warren community. Students will be able to learn more about the WTHS community, navigate the buildings and systems, and experience increased community life. |

Stress & Anxiety Management Strategies (SAMS) |
High school can be an exciting yet demanding phase in a student's life, often accompanied by stress and anxiety. The "Stress & Anxiety Management Strategies" support group is here to provide students with valuable tools and techniques to effectively manage and reduce the impact of stress and anxiety on their overall well-being. |

Latinas Unidas |
Latinas Unidas is a girls group to help develop a sense of belonging at school. Our mission is to empower adolescent Latinas by supporting their emotional, cultural, educational, and social development by strengthening cultural pride and encouraging academic and career aspirations. |

Conflict Resolution |
In the dynamic environment of high school, conflicts are a natural part of growing up and interacting with peers. The "Conflict Management Skills Workshop" is designed to empower students with the essential skills to handle conflicts constructively, promote healthy communication, and build stronger relationships. |

Boosting Attendance & Student Engagement (BASE) |
High school is a critical time in a student's life, and regular attendance and active engagement are essential for academic success. The "Boosting Attendance and Student Engagement" support group is here to support students in overcoming attendance challenges and enhancing their participation in school activities, ultimately ensuring a fulfilling high school experience. |

Mindfulness |
The Mindfulness support group is open to all high school students who wish to enhance their well-being, manage stress, and build mindfulness practices into their daily lives. Whether you're dealing with academic pressures, social challenges, or simply seeking a more peaceful and balanced life, our group is here to empower you. |

Self Regulation |
This group is for teaching students how to recognize triggers and points of stress so that they are able to manage their emotions. Students will be able to self-reflect and redirect themselves |

Study Skills and Executive Functioning |
High school is a time of increased academic responsibilities, and mastering executive functioning skills is key to success. The support group is dedicated to enhancing these vital skills while boosting student engagement. Our aim is to equip high school students with the tools and strategies they need to excel academically and stay actively engaged in their education. |

Decision Making |
This group is designed to develop students' core critical thinking and problem-solving competencies. The focus is on applying structured reasoning to real-world challenges across three vital areas: academic performance, personal wellness, and post-secondary planning. The goal is to cultivate independent and resilient decision-makers. |

Grief Share |
This short-term, facilitated group offers a safe and private space for students experiencing loss. Connect with peers who understand, learn practical coping strategies, and share your story without pressure. Our focus is on providing immediate support and tools to navigate the initial stages of grief. |

WTHS MTSS Handbook
MTSS refers to a Multi-Tiered Systems of Support framework that provides academic, behavioral, and social-emotional support to all students through a tiered approach. MTSS utilizes different levels of support to ensure students receive the help they need to succeed.
