Application and Approval Information
If you think you may need a parking permit, you are encouraged to apply.
- Parking applications will be available each year beginning on March 1 at 7:00a.m.
- The deadline for applying each year is May 1st (or risk being placed on the waiting list).
- An email confirmation will be sent to the email address you entered on the application.
- Please be sure to check your junk, spam or clutter for confirmation.
- Parking fees will be applied to your fee cart once the list of approved applications is determined (first week of August).
- If you chose NOT to purchase a permit, then the fee will be removed from your fee cart in August or email cmaiden@wths.net with instructions to remove the parking fee.
- If you do not recall applying, then please submit again.
- If you submit your application after May 1st, you may be placed on a waiting list but are encouraged to still apply.

Parking Regulations
Parking is a privilege, not a right. I understand that, along with the privilege of parking at Warren, I am subject to the following policies and procedures concerning vehicle operations:
- All students must have either a parking permit or a temporary parking tag to park in the student lots.
- Violation of truancy, tardy and/or discipline policy may result in suspension/loss of parking privileges.
- Parking does not guarantee you a reserved parking space; it gives you the privilege to park on school grounds during school hours.
- Students must park in areas designated for student parking only.
- The student parking areas are the parking lot by the flagpole, next to the softball fields and the lot adjacent to the B1 entrance doors at Almond.
- The student parking areas are located in the South Lot only near the football field at O'Plaine.
- Students parking in the staff lot, spaces reserved for visitors, or no parking areas may permanently lose parking privileges or be ticketed and/or towed at the owner's expense.
- Improper operation of the vehicle on school grounds will result in the loss of parking privilege.
- All students will obey directives from security and staff in the parking lot.
- Students may not go to their cars at any time during school hours without permission from the Deans’ office.
- Students may NOT sit in vehicles during school hours.
- The speed limit is 10 miles per hour.
- All motorcycles, scooters, etc. must follow the Parking Regulations for automobiles and park in designated areas.
- Warren Township High School is not responsible for damage or theft while vehicles are on school grounds.
- Any vehicle on school grounds is subject to search by school authorities and law enforcement personnel working with them.
- Any vehicle entering school property is subject to search by school authorities and law enforcement personnel working with them.
- Parking permits/temp tags are not transferrable - Students cannot use another student's permit/temp tag.

2024-2025 Student Parking Application
- Students who have outstanding fees on their accounts (books, electronics, lunch, or unpaid registration fees) will not be eligible to purchase a permit until those fees are paid in full but are still able to purchase daily temporary parking tags for $5/day (cash).
- Students must be 16 years of age to purchase the permit but may apply prior to their birth date.
- There are no fee waivers for parking and no payment plans are offered. If you have additional questions, refer to the information tab.

Daily Temporary Parking Tags
- All parking rules are on the reverse side of temporary parking tags. By purchasing, students agree to all rules.
- Temporary parking tags are available from the Bookkeeper's office and must be displayed in the vehicle first thing in the morning.
- Students will not be excused from class if they are late due to taking tags to cars, so it is advisable to make your purchase BEFORE the day you need it.
- Students may receive three (3) FREE temporary parking tags per semester.
- The price for daily parking is $5.00 per day and is payable in cash at the Bookkeeper's Office.
- In order to purchase a temp tag (or use your free ones), you must provide the Make/Model/License plate.
- After free tags are used, then students are able to purchase a daily temporary parking tag.
- Students are NOT permitted to use any other student's free temporary parking tags.
- We may or may not check the lots daily. Vehicles without proper documentation may be towed without notice.
- Students may purchase temporary parking tags before school, during a study hall or during lunch.
- Any vehicle without a valid parking tag will receive a warning sticker.

Towing of Vehicles
- If your car is towed from our lot, it will be at the owner’s expense.
- Students parking in the staff lot, spaces reserved for visitors, or in no parking areas, may permanently lose parking privileges or be ticketed and/or towed at the owner's expense.
- If you do not have a parking permit or a daily temporary parking pass, you may be towed.
- Daily temporary parking tags are available in the Bookkeeper’s office for $5.00 (cash) per day after 3 free temp tags are used.

FAQ
What if I did not receive a confirmation email after completing my application?
- Please check your spam and clutter folders.
- If you do not recall applying, then please submit an application again.
- If you complete a parking application after August 1, 2024, and are approved for a permit, please contact our Bookkeeper, Cheryl Maiden at 847-548-6572 for payment options.
I submitted my parking application after the deadline.
- If you submit your application after May 1st, 2024, you may be placed on a waiting list but are encouraged to still apply.
How does the waiting list for a parking permit work?
- Parking is offered on a first-come-first-served basis.
- Students who have completed the parking application by the May 1st deadline have first priority and will have until the first day of school to pay for their parking permit.
- All students who wish to be on the waiting list must fill out the parking application.
- Parking permits will be offered to those on the waiting list (if necessary) in order that applications are submitted.
- On the second day of school, we will offer parking permits to those on the waiting list, depending on availability.
- If you do not recall submitting an application, then please submit again.
I didn't purchase a parking permit for the school year. Can I still drive to school if necessary?
- Yes! Each student receives 3 FREE temporary parking tags per semester.
- Students are NOT permitted to use any other student's free temporary parking tags.
- After free tags are used, then students are able to purchase a daily temporary parking tag.
- The price for daily parking is $5.00 per day and is payable in cash at the Bookkeeper's Office.

I chose not to purchase a permit at the beginning of the school year. Can I still buy one?
- Depending on availability, annual parking permits may not be available to purchase at a later date during the year.
- If you decide you do not want to purchase a permit at the beginning of the year, you will lose your spot, but you can add your name to the end of the waiting list by re-entering your information for a parking application.
I have outstanding fees that are preventing me from purchasing a parking permit. What should I do?
- In order to apply for a parking permit, there cannot be any outstanding fees on your account (including the current year's registration fees).
- There are not payment plans for parking permits.

I am an early graduate. Can I get a permit for one semester?
- Permits are sold for the entire year.
- Once your permit is returned to the Deans' office or the Bookkeeper's office, a prorated refund will be initiated.
- Refunds may take up to 6 weeks to process.
- Any outstanding fees will be deducted from the amount to be refunded.
- Questions regarding refunds can be directed to the Bookkeeper at 847-548-6572.
Are there refunds for parking permits?
- In the event that a refund is necessary, we will pro-rate the refund.
- If there are any outstanding fees on the account, the fees will be deducted from the prorated amount.
Do I need a temporary parking tag during final exams?
- YES for winter finals but NO for spring finals.
- Failure to obtain a temporary parking tag may result in your car being towed.
- After graduation in May, parking is FREE for all students.
Are there fee waivers for parking?
- There are no fee waivers for parking.
- Parking fees must be paid for in full in order to receive your permit once school begins.
