SOUTH ASIAN STUDENT ASSOCIATION

The South Asian Student Association will be having its first meeting of the semester today, Tuesday, February 13th, from 3:20 to 4:20 in O'Plaine Room 203. Hope you can join us! (C. Matthew)

 

CROCHET CLUB

The crochet club will be meeting this Wednesday, February 14th in the Blue Devil's Den at O'Plaine to do a fun activity in the spirit of love. The meeting is from 3:20 to 4:15 and late bus passes will be provided. Please come and bring a friend! (Ginter)

 

TECH TEAM

The next Tech Team meeting is on Thursday, February 15. We meet after school in O’Plaine Room 258 from 3:25 until 4:05. All are welcome, bring a friend or two, and late bus passes will be provided. (Ferrara)

 

SUPERNATURAL CLUB

Are you ready to explore the eerie side of Valentine's Day? Join us today at 3:15 to 4:10 in room 205 at the O'Plaine campus for a special meeting of the Supernatural Club as we delve into the haunting tales of "Haunted Lovers"! As part of our Valentine's Day celebration, we'll be hosting a drawing for a genuine rose quartz crystal, renowned for its associations with love, compassion, and healing. Don't miss your chance to win this enchanting prize and infuse your Valentine's season with a touch of the supernatural. 

 

Plus, we want to hear from you! Have you ever captured eerie phenomena on camera? Seen strange shadows or heard mysterious whispers in the night? INTERNATIONAL CLUB

Celebrate Valentine’s Day with International Club as we make crafts and eat snacks. Join us in the O’Plaine faculty cafeteria afterschool tomorrow. All are welcome and late bus passes will be provided. (Stewart) 

 

BOYS TENNIS INFORMATIONAL MEETING

Any boy interested in Boys Tennis tryouts, must attend the preseason information meeting today, Tuesday, February 13 from 3:30-4pm at the O'Plaine Cafeteria. Tryout, practice, and season information will be shared at this meeting. GIRLS BADMINTON CUPID SHUTTLE

The girls badminton program will be hosting the Cupid Shuttle on Wednesday - Valentines Day. What better way to express your love than to come play a game of badminton. BOYS VOLLEYBALL TRYOUTS

Boys volleyball tryouts will be March 4-6 at the Almond campus for all levels. Monday's tryout will be from 4-7PM. Students must be registered prior to the first tryout date and must have a physical on file with the campus nurse. Check the Varsity webpage for all tryout information. (Honda)

 

HELP A STUDENT GO TO PROM!

Are you looking for a way to make a difference? The Students of Service is partnering with Mother's Trust Foundation to provide hope, confidence, and make a positive difference to students in our community! How can you help? We are collecting new or gently used prom dresses, clutches, shoes, jewelry, and other accessories to ensure that every student who wants to go to prom can! We will be accepting donations in room 106 at the O'Plaine Campus daily throughout the month of February and right up to March 22nd! All you have to do is look in your closet and see what you might have that you'd like to donate! Let's make prom accessible to everyone! (Juergensen)

 

HISTORICALLY BLACK COLLEGES & UNIVERSITIES SPRING BREAK COLLEGE TOUR

Are you interested in exploring Historically Black Colleges & Universities? Waukegan Township is hosting their annual Spring Break HBCU College Tour from March 24 - 31. Potential schools to be visited include Spelman, Morehouse, Clark Atlanta, Alabama A&M, Fisk and many more. If you’d like more information, families are invited to attend an informational meeting on Wednesday Feb. 14 or 21 from 5:30 – 7:00 pm at the Waukegan Township Supervisors Office, located at 149 S. FILIPINO AMERICAN STUDENT ASSOCIATION

The Filipino American Student Association is hosting a movie day at the O'Plaine Room 223B on Valentines Day, February 14 from 3:20 to 4:20. We will be watching She’s Dating the Gangster, starring our favorite Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla. Please join us and bring a friend. (McElvain)

 

SOFTBALL TRYOUT INFORMATIONAL MEETING

Any girls interested in trying out for girls softball this spring should attend an informational meeting on Thursday February 15th in the O'Plaine Cafeteria by the windows at 3:30. We will go over requirements needed to tryout as well as the tryout schedule. Please try to register online before this meeting. Late bus passes will be available. POST-SECONDARY EXPLORATION PRESENTATION FOR FRESHMEN 2/15

Freshmen…Unsure of what you want to do after high school? Are you overwhelmed by the thought of it? It's not too early to begin your exploration process! Start NOW by attending this beneficial presentation on Thursday, February 15 at 7:00 pm in the O’Plaine Auditorium. Post-secondary options and helpful resources will be discussed so you can feel confident about your next steps and shine your light bright upon graduation! The evening will also include a panel of WTHS Seniors who will answer your questions and share tangible tips and advice on balancing high school while planning for the future. VOTER REGISTRATION DRIVE

Students Demand Action is sponsoring a voter registration drive on Friday, February 16th in the cafeteria during all lunch periods. You may register if you: 1-Are a US citizen or naturalized citizen 2- Will be 18 years old on or before the next election (November 5. 2024) 3- Have two forms of ID (School ID and Driver’s License/State ID). INTERMISSION PERFORMERS FOR MR. WARREN

Do you have a special performance talent? Student Council is looking for performers who can entertain a crowd for 5-10 minutes during the intermissions of the Mr Warren Pageant.
