INDUSTRY SPEAKER SERIES

Are you an effective problem solver and communicator? Can you demonstrate physical and mental endurance? Do you like working with your hands, fixing things and seeing the results of your work? If this sounds like you, and you don’t mind math, then attend our next Industry Speaker Series with a Licensed Professional Plumber. This period-long-workshop is on Thursday, January 26 (7th period at Almond and 8th period at O’Plaine) in the College & Career Center at the respective campuses. Interested students are to report at the beginning of the period and stay for the duration. In Illinois, Licensed Plumbers can make as much as $108,000, per year with a starting salary of about $48,000. By attending, students can expect to gain knowledge about the industry, job outlook, responsibilities, required training/education and practical advice and tips. (Hartley)

 

SUPER SHOW

Come support Warren talent as they perform in Super Show this Friday, January 27th at 7 pm in the O’Plaine auditorium! Super Show is Warren's annual cultural and talent showcase and is a great opportunity to celebrate the diversity here at Warren. Tickets should be purchased through the Warren website. (Stewart)

 

TURNABOUT 2023

The Turnabout dance is on Saturday, February 18 at the Almond Campus. Tickets for Turnabout 2023: Devils at the Disco will be available to purchase starting February 3rd. No tickets will be sold after February 14th so mark your calendars! (Desiron)

 

GIRLS WATER POLO

Any girls interested in joining the water polo team this spring, there will be an informational meeting on Wednesday 1/25 at 3:30 in the observation deck (by the pool) at O'Plaine. Open pools will be starting on Thursday 1/26, at 5:30am. If you are interested, but not sure if this sport is for you, or if you have questions please contact Coach Wright (cwright@wths.net).

 

MUSLIM STUDENT ASSOCIATION MEETING

Come join us for MSA, the Muslim Student Association, today, January 24th, in room 221 from 3:30-4:30 at the O'Plaine campus! There will be a discussion, followed by a jeopardy and snacks! Tell all of your friends to join us and we’ll see you all this Tuesday! (C.Thomas)

 

NATIONAL FRENCH EXAM

Calling all French students! National French Contest registration is now open! The online test is $7 for each student and your teacher will give you the test dates for your class. Registration is through the payment link on the WTHS home page. Registration closes at 8AM on Monday, February 6, 2023; no late registrations will be accepted. Please see your French teacher if you have questions. (Mason)

 

TABLETOP GAMING CLUB

Attention gamers. If you enjoy board, card, or role-playing games, then stop by the Tabletop Gaming Club at O’Plaine in room 302 today from 3:20 to 5:00 pm and play some of our games or share your own favorites. This week's featured game is Elder Sign once again. Grab five friends and investigate the mysteries of the Arkham Museum. No experience needed. (Harkins)

 

SPRING SPORT REGISTRATION IS OPEN

Spring sport registration is now open. In order for you to participate a parent or guardian must register you online (https://warrentownship-ar.rschooltoday.com/) and you must have a current physical on file in the nurse's office. Go to the Athletics page of the WTHS website and click on "Spring Sports" to find the requirements for trying out, season start dates, and the link to online registration. (Pier)

FIRST-GEN WORKSHOP

Our next Workshop for First-Gen students is today during 5th Period in the Library. ALL FIRST-GEN STUDENTS ARE WELCOME! You don’t need to attend previous workshops to begin attending. Plan to arrive on time at the start of the period and stay for the duration - attendance will be taken and excused. If this is your lunch period, you’re allowed to eat during the workshop. TEMPORARY ID’S

Please be advised that temporary ID’s will only be issued before 3:20. Any student who needs a temporary ID should stop by the Attendance Office during their passing period, study hall, or lunch period. Students are allowed three free temporary ID’s per semester. New ID’s cost $5.00. (Dean's Office)

 

US ARMY & MARINE CORPS LUNCH PERIOD VISITS

Representatives from the US Army will be in the cafe today and the US Marines Corps on Wednesday, Jan. 25 during all lunch periods. Stop by their informational table during your lunch period if you would like more info or have questions! (Hartley)

FINANCIAL AID WORKSHOP

Seniors! Need help completing your FAFSA, CSS Profile or the Illinois Alternative Application to find funds for college? Confused about your financial aid award letter from your college and have questions? Our next workshop is Thursday, January 26th from 6-8pm.
