MARTIN LUTHER KING JR DAY OF SERVICE - Did you know that MLK Day is the only federal holiday designated as a national day of service to encourage all Americans to volunteer to improve their communities? It has been designated as “A day on, not a day off.” MLK Day of Service is intended to empower individuals, strengthen communities, bridge barriers, create solutions to social problems, and move us closer to Dr. King’s vision of a “Beloved Community.” Go to MLKDay.com for links to find volunteer opportunities in your community. ASVAB TEST & CAREER EXPLORATION PROGRAM - WTHS is hosting the ASVAB for interested WTHS Sophomores, Juniors and Seniors on Saturday, January 22 at 9:00 a.m. at the Almond Campus. The Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery assesses a student's ability to learn new skills and is a predictor of success in training and education programs. It produces Career Exploration Scores that can aid in the exploration of a wide variety of career options. This would be a great test to take if you are unsure what you’d like to do in the future. The ASVAB is offered at no cost to you and there is no military obligation just by taking the test. Interested students can sign-up in the Guidance Office with Mrs. Joy (Almond) or Mrs. Ellis (O’Plaine) by January 19. Spots are limited so sign up soon if interested! (Hartley)
