BSU SPIRIT WEEK!

Today is themed “Black Excellence” so we’re super excited to see everyone’s best outfits throughout the day! Wednesday is HBCU day, so make sure to gear up in your favorite HBCU or college merch tomorrow! (Pulec)

ART CLUB

Art Club will be having their Valentine’s Party on Wednesday February 12th from 3:15-4 in Room 262. Please bring food or drink to share! (McCulley)

SPANISH NATIONAL HONOR SOCIETY APPLICATIONS

Sophomores and Juniors in honors Spanish- we are now accepting applications for induction into Spanish National Honor Society. You may pick up an application for membership from the main office at O’Plaine or from Spanish teachers at Almond. Completed applications should be turned in to the box at either main office and are due by Friday, February 21st. (Lerner)

BADMINTON FUNDRAISER

Hey Sweethearts! Come out to the O'Plaine gym on Friday, Valentines day, from 3:30 to 6pm and play a game or two of badminton. Games will be $2. Win or Lose you are guaranteed a prize! If you have questions see any badminton player or coach! (Heimstead)

BOYS LACROSSE OPEN GYM

Attention Boys Lacrosse: Tonight is our only open gym of the week! It's important for you to be there if you can. Lifting and conditioning will still be after school, but see you at open gym! (Janczak)

WARREN WELLNESS AMBASSADORS

Warren Wellness Ambassadors will be meeting this Thursday at 3:20 in the conference room across from the main office at the O’Plaine Campus. Snacks will be provided! New members are always welcome! (Tragarz)

SPRING SPORT REGISTRATION

In order to try out for a spring sport you must be registered online AND have a current physical on file in the nurses' office. The registration link is on the Athletics page of the Warren website. Tryouts for most sports begin Monday, March 2. (Pier)

MECS MEETING

There will be a MECS meeting on Wednesday at 3:20pm in the O'Plaine Lecture Hall. The mayor of Gurnee will be presenting on the EtO concerns in the community. Hope to see you there and bring a friend. (Boncher)

BLACK STUDENT UNION GENERAL MEETING

Come to the O'Plaine Campus today at 3:30 for the BSU's General Wealth meeting, where Mr. Nelson will be talking about how people are affected by the way wealth is passed down from one generation to the next. (Pulec)

RED CROSS CLUB

Hello Red Cross members! Our Next meeting will be all about CPR! We'll be learning how to perform CPR and how to use an AED. It'll be a fun and interactive meeting. We'll see you Wednesday, February 12th at the O'plaine Campus in room 213 from 3:20 to 4:00 pm. There will be free food, so come and bring friends. (Dalrymple)

TUTORING FOR SPANISH

Do you feel like you need a little extra help with your Spanish class? Just want someone to study with? Come to the library after school and get help from a Spanish National Honor Society student. Tutoring happens Tuesdays and Thursdays, 2:20-3:00 at Almond and 3:20-4:00 at Oplaine. Look for a table with a tutoring sign. (Lerner)

INTERNATIONAL CLUB

Fun Fact: One city in Japan, Nagano, has a resort where you can interact with wild snow monkeys, who soak in their own hot springs. To learn more about the culture and traditions of Japan, join International Club on Wednesday, February 12 from 3:20-4 pm in the O'Plaine faculty cafeteria. Join us for food, fun, and more! ALMOND VALENTINE’S DAY TEDDY BEAR SALES

Almond Students of Service is holding its annual Valentine's Day Teddy Bear Sale during lunch periods from Tuesday until Thursday. Buy your special someone a bear and have it delivered to their first hour class on Valentine's Day! (Hanlon)

GIRLS VOLLEYBALL INFORMATION

Anyone interested in playing volleyball next school year, there will be an informational meeting this Wednesday (2/12) in PE Classroom from 2:15 - 2:30pm. If you have any questions feel free to contact Coach Chen. (Chen)

I’M FIRST CLUB

Our next meeting for our I’m First Club will be Today, February 11th for our Senior AND Junior students from 2:20-3:00 in the Almond Campus College and Career Center. We will discuss our upcoming field trip, t-shirts, scholarships and have members from the CLC First Gen club join us. Any student who is the first in their family to earn a college degree in the United States is welcome to attend. Snacks and late bus passes will be provided. (McGahan)

Join us on Wednesday morning for Warren's Christian club, The Wave. There will be donuts, community, and fun! It will be in room 123 from 6:45am-7:15am. (Hanlon)

GRADUATION SPEECHES

Attention Seniors-All graduating seniors are invited to compete for an opportunity to speak at the Commencement Ceremony. If you are interested in making an address at Commencement, an application can be picked up from Mrs. Timan in the Principal’s office, room 204. Applications received by Friday, February 21, 2020 will be considered by the screening committee. (Timan)
