WARREN WELLNESS AMBASSADORS

Warren Wellness Ambassadors will be meeting this Thursday at 3:20 in the Faculty Cafeteria at the O’Plaine Campus. We will be finalizing plans for Red Ribbon Week. New members are always welcome! (Tragarz)

THINK PINK

The girls Volleyball program is hosting Niles North Monday, Oct 14th for their CANCER AWARENESS GAME.  Come join the fun and contribute to a good cause.  There will be give aways, raffles, and a lot of good volleyball to watch.  Admission is $3.00 unless you purchase a pre-event ticket for $1.00.  All proceeds go to Charity.  Frosh/Soph Games start at 5:00 Almond campus. Varsity 6:00pm. (Filippo)

ASTRONOMY CLUB

The Astronomy Club will meet Friday night at 6pm. We have officer elections!  We have new Astronomy Club gear to present!  We have Science News!   And Pizza Hut!!  Bring $5 for pizza and soda.  (Nelson)

FBLA CORN MAZE TRIP

Do you enjoy corn? How about getting lost in a maze? If so, make sure to sign up for the FBLA annual Corn Maze Trip. Permission slips are in the campus bookstore. Money and permission slips are due this Friday, Oct. 11 at your campus bookstore. This is open to FBLA members only, but you can also join FBLA by paying your dues in the bookstore. SOUTH ASIAN STUDENT ASSOCIATION

Are you interested in learning about Hinduism? You're in luck because SASA will have its next meeting this Thursday, October 10th, at the O'Plaine campus in Room 210. All are welcome and late bus passes will be provided. (Cordova)

STUDENT EXCHANGE INFORMATIONAL MEETING

Any students interested in getting information about the International Student Exchange Program sponsored by the Gurnee Rotary should attend a meeting on Thursday evening, October 10 at 6:30 p.m. in the Main Office Conference Room at the O’Plaine Campus.  Short term exchange opportunities over the summer  will be discussed.  Your parents are encouraged to attend as well!  Contact Dr. Ahlgrim in the Superintendent’s Office with questions. MECS MEETING

There will be a MECS meeting today, October 9th at 3:20pm in the O'Plaine Lecture Hall. We will be organizing the adopt-a-trail clean-up and taking our yearbook photo. Hope to see you there and bring a friend. (Boncher)

SOPHOMORES: Are you the first in your family planning to attend a 2- or 4-year college or university? If so, and neither of your parents received a college degree, then YOU are considered “FIRST GENERATION” or “FIRST GEN!” The Library is hosting our next Sophomore First Gen Workshop TODAY during 4th period. The topic of the workshop is “Choosing a College." ALL FIRST GEN SOPHOMORES ARE WELCOME TO ATTEND! Attendance will be taken. (Hartley)

Are you interested in learning about a particular college? A variety of college reps are scheduled to visit Warren students during the school year. To attend a college visit during the school day, you must be passing all classes and sign up in Naviance no later than one school day prior to the visit. Log into Naviance to see a complete list of colleges visiting and sign up. Check out tomorrow’s visits in the College & Career Center, Auburn University period 1, Smith College period 2, University of Tampa period 3, Coe College period 4, Kent State University period 5, North Park University period 6, and University of Iowa period 7. TEXTBOOK DAMAGE ASSESSMENT FORM REMINDER

Reminder to fill out the Fall Semester Textbook Assessment Form for any damaged textbooks you have by Friday, October 11th! You will be able to find the online Assessment Form on the Warren web page: www.d121.org. Go to “Academics” then to “Academic Resources” and then to “Textbooks”.
