BLACK HISTORY MONTH

MECS MEETING

There will be a MECS meeting on Wednesday, February 13, 2019 at 3:20pm in the O'Plaine Lecture Hall. This is a very important meeting so please try to attend. We have a lot of items to discuss. Hope to see you there and bring a friend. (Boncher)

GIRLS’ BADMINTON

Girls are you interested in a competitive sport where you don’t have to worry about the cold, wind, or rain? Then Badminton is for you! Join us for a sneak preview on Friday, Feb 15th The team is hosting the first CUPID SHUTTLE. Come join us for some fun, we will have challenges of all levels, concessions and an overall smashing good time. SKI CLUB

Attention all ski club members! Registration for our last trip to Wilmot is open. Please visit the ski club website to register for this trip if you plan on attending. The registration for this trip closes on Tuesday, February 12th. (Burza)

TABLETOP GAMING CLUB

Attention gamers, stop by the Tabletop Gaming Club at O’Plaine in room 302 Tuesday from 3:15 to 5:00 pm and play some of the best board games you've never heard of. We are discussing this year's club shirts at our next meeting. Late bus passes will be provided. All are welcome. (Harkins)

Freshman and Sophomores, Are you ready to meet new people? The Wall Flower Club from Almond Campus is thrilled to join you each Monday after school in the Staff Lounge at the back of the O'Plaine cafeteria with the goal of making new friends. We meet from 3:25 until 4. (Neal)

EKG SCREENING

The Max Schewitz Foundation will be offering EKG screening to all O’Plaine students on Wednesday, February 20th.  The EKG will help find hidden heart conditions that otherwise would go undetected. LOCAL SCHOLARSHIP WORKSHOP FOR SENIORS

Thursday is Valentine’s Day! At Almond, we express our love for free money by offering our LOCAL SCHOLARSHIP WORKSHOP for seniors entitled iHeart Scholarships! The workshop is offered periods 3-6, in the College and Career Center. Please attend the presentation held during your lunch period and feel free to bring your hot or cold lunch as it will last the entire period. You will also need your chromebook. This is a very popular workshop, so arrive early for a spot! (Ecklund)

HEALTHY RELATIONSHIPS GUEST SPEAKER

Questions on dating, friendships or simply working with others? Join us! Guest speakers from A Safe Place will be at the Almond Campus this Tuesday to provide tips, tools and resources to maintain healthy relationships! The presentation will take place in the College and Career Center during 3rd and 4th period. Stop by during your lunch or study hall! (Tragarz)

FRENCH HONOR SOCIETY MEETING AND YEARBOOK PICTURE

Our February meeting will be held today. Please wear your French Honor Society tee-shirt for our yearbook picture. We will be having French conversation while eating treats and learning about how the francophone world celebrates Valentine's Day. (Kosonen)

All graduating seniors are invited to compete for an opportunity to speak at the commencement ceremony.  If you are interested in making an address at commencement, an application can be picked up from Mrs. Timan in the Principal’s Office, room 204.
