LETTERS TO SANTA – LETTER PICK-UP

Every year Warren students sponsor an inner-city school for the holidays.  These students most likely will not get a wonderful holiday like you or I.  This year’s school is Reilly Elementary.  Stop by the table in the lunchroom during your lunch period to pick up a letter and be an elf!  Letters will be handed out Tuesday, the 13th through Thursday, November 15th.  Get there quick. TECH TEAM MEETING

The next Tech Team meeting will be after school on Monday, November 12th. We will meet after school in O’Plaine Room 258 from 3:20 until 4:00. All are welcome, late bus passes will be available. (Ferrara)

TABLETOP GAMING CLUB

Are you a gamer? If so stop by the Tabletop Gaming Club at O’Plaine in room 302 Tuesdays from 3:15 to 5:00 pm and play some of the best board games you've never heard of. Late bus passes will be provided. All are welcome. (Harkins)

SKI CLUB INFORMATIONAL MEETINGS

Attention all skiers and snowboarders! We will have informational meetings on Wednesday, November 14th at Almond in room 117 from 2:20 -2:45pm and Thursday, November 15th in the OP Lecture Hall from 3:30-4:00pm. You must attend one of these meetings in order to be a member of ski club this year. Late bus passes and sport passes will be provided. You must be ON TIME. GIRLS’ BOWLING TRYOUTS

Tryouts for the girls bowling team begin Monday, November 12 at Bertrand Lanes in Waukegan. Any girls wishing to tryout must receive clearance from the athletic office by registering online & having a current physical on file. TEACHER SUPERLATIVES

Vote for teacher superlatives for them to be featured in the yearbook! You can find the link on the d121 website and search for the yearbook page, or scan the QR code on posters that are around the school. Voting ends November 16th.

WATER POLO OPEN POOL

Hello everyone! If you would like to come to a Water Polo Open pool please come by to the O'Plaine Pool on Saturday, November 10th from 10:00 to 11:00 am. (Whelan)

P.E. LEADERS CLASS OF 2019-2020

Are you interested in being a leader? Do you enjoy working with students who have special needs? Then we would love to have you as a peer tutor/leader in our adapted physical education class, 2nd period next year at the Almond campus. For Almond students, Please attend a short mandatory meeting Monday Nov. 12th, in the PE classroom at 2:20pm until 2:40pm. If you have any questions please contact Ms. Barta at sbarta@wths.net . BOYS SWIMMING AND DIVING

Attention all boys interested in trying out for the 2018-2019 boys swimming and diving team. Season begins Monday, November 19th, 2018 at 3:30pm, and all swimmers and divers are expected to attend all practices on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. All Swimmers and Divers must register, and have a current physical on file before the first day of try-outs. Please go to the athletic page to register. DAILY LOANER CHROMEBOOKS

Please return Daily Loaner Chromebooks or chargers to the Technology Department to Mrs. Jedryszek in the Library at Almond or Ms. Caronti in the O’plaine Library. Students will be charged a fee on their accounts if the Loaner devices are not returned by the 2nd day. Remember to charge up your Chromebooks before school. (Jedryszek)

 

O’PLAINE CAMPUS

VETERANS DAY TOILETRY DRIVE

Please help support Lake County veterans by bringing in toiletry items to your social studies class during the week of Nov. 12-16. All items will go to the Lake County COOL pantry to help local veterans in need. The top 5 classes that raise the most donations will receive either donuts or ice cream. FBLA NOVEMBER GENERAL MEETING

The FBLA November General Meeting is on Monday, November 12th from 7-8 pm in the Auditorium at the O'plaine Campus. A panel of former judges will talk about and answer questions regarding the upcoming competition season. The theme is USA, so wear your red, white and blue! (Vranek)

STUDENT FAN BUS

Attention ALL students- come out and support your Warren Blue Devil football team as they travel to Chicago to take on Brother Rice in a IHSA quarterfinal showdown Saturday night!  There will be a student fan bus.  Cost is $10 which includes the cost of the ticket also.  Bus will leave at 4 PM from O’Plaine on Saturday.  Please see Ms. Hesse, the bookkeeper, by the attendance office to purchase a ticket.  Tickets will be sold until Friday morning.  Buy quick before they sell out! YOUNG AMERICANS FOR FREEDOM

Young Americans for Freedom will have their next general meeting on Monday, November 12th, at 2:20 in the College and Career Center. Bring your Chromebooks. (Hanlon)

VETERANS’ DAY TOILETRY DRIVE

To help Lake County Veterans in need, WTHS is organizing a toiletry drive November 12-16.  Please bring in toiletries or cleaning products to help out local Veterans.  Some examples include soap, shampoo, toothbrushes, disposable razors, shaving cream, Kleenex, & toilet paper. There is a large collection box outside the main office here at Almond.   For more information, see your social studies teacher. (Zaban)

JOSTENS CAP & GOWN / ANNOUNCEMENT PACKET PICK UP

Jostens will be at the Almond Campus on Monday, November 12, during all lunch periods to hand out cap and gown packets that will include ordering information. Please stop by the Jostens table outside of the cafeteria during your lunch period to pick-up a packet on Monday, November 12. Extra packets will be available in Room 204 and at the front office reception desk if they are not picked up on November 12. Jostens will return to collect orders November 19-21.
