SKI CLUB INFORMATIONAL MEETINGS

Attention all skiers and snowboarders! We will have informational meetings on Wednesday, November 14th at Almond in room 117 from 2:20 -2:45pm and Thursday, November 15th in the OP Lecture Hall from 3:30-4:00pm. You must attend one of these meetings in order to be a member of ski club this year. Late bus passes and sport passes will be provided. You must be ON TIME. CREATIONS RAFFLE WINNER

GIRLS’ BOWLING TRYOUTS

Tryouts for the girls bowling team begin Monday, November 12 at Bertrand Lanes in Waukegan. Any girls wishing to tryout must receive clearance from the athletic office by registering online & having a current physical on file. FBLA PARTNERSHIP WITH BUSINESS COMMITTEE MEETING

There will be an FBLA Partnership with Business Committee Meeting on tonight from 6:00-6:45 at the Almond Campus in room 211. Come by to help with planning future events with the Gurnee Park District. Bring a Friend! (Vranek)

BOYS LACROSSE PARENT / PLAYER INFORMATIONAL MEETING

There will be an important parent/player informational meeting tonight at 7pm in the O'Plaine lecture hall for any and all boys interested in playing lacrosse this spring who are not currently in a sport. The meeting will cover tryouts, the spring season, and fundraising. If you are unable to make the meeting, please see Coach Eddy at Almond or Coach Janczak at O'Plaine for the information. (Janczak)

WATER POLO OPEN POOL

Hello everyone! If you would like to come to a Water Polo Open pool please come by to the O'Plaine Pool on Saturday, November 10th from 10:00 to 11:00 am. (Whelan)

P.E. LEADERS CLASS OF 2019-2020

Are you interested in being a leader? Do you enjoy working with students who have special needs? Then we would love to have you as a peer tutor/leader in our adapted physical education class, 2nd period next year at the Almond campus. For Almond students, Please attend a short mandatory meeting Monday Nov. 12th, in the PE classroom at 2:20pm until 2:40pm. If you have any questions please contact Ms. Barta at sbarta@wths.net . BOYS SWIMMING AND DIVING

Attention all boys interested in trying out for the 2018-2019 boys swimming and diving team. Season begins Monday, November 19th, 2018 at 3:30pm, and all swimmers and divers are expected to attend all practices on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. All Swimmers and Divers must register, and have a current physical on file before the first day of try-outs. Please go to the athletic page to register. DAILY LOANER CHROMEBOOKS

Please return Daily Loaner Chromebooks or chargers to the Technology Department to Mrs. Jedryszek in the Library at Almond or Ms. Caronti in the O’plaine Library. Students will be charged a fee on their accounts if the Loaner devices are not returned by the 2nd day. Remember to charge up your Chromebooks before school. (Jedryszek)

 

O’PLAINE CAMPUS

FBLA NOVEMBER GENERAL MEETING

The FBLA November General Meeting is on Monday, November 12th from 7-8 pm in the Auditorium at the O'plaine Campus. A panel of former judges will talk about and answer questions regarding the upcoming competition season. The theme is USA, so wear your red, white and blue! (Vranek)

BASEBALL!

All freshman and sophomore baseball players, there will be an informational meeting today, November 8th in the O.P. café at 3:25pm.  Please make every effort to attend even if you are in another sport.  The meeting will last about 15 min and late bus passes will be provided.  All basketball players; please stop by right after school to get your packet and you can make tryouts on time. STUDENT FAN BUS

Attention ALL students- come out and support your Warren Blue Devil football team as they travel to Chicago to take on Brother Rice in a IHSA quarterfinal showdown Saturday night!  There will be a student fan bus.  Cost is $10 which includes the cost of the ticket also.  Bus will leave at 4 PM from O’Plaine on Saturday.  Please see Ms. Hesse, the bookkeeper, by the attendance office to purchase a ticket.  Tickets will be sold until Friday morning.  Buy quick before they sell out! Attention all Spanish students! Do you need help with Spanish class? Come to Spanish Resource in the O'Plaine Library today from 3:20-4:00pm. There, Spanish National Honor Society members will be available to explain concepts, help you with speaking, or help with any homework you may have! All are welcome!  (Gustafson)

 

ALMOND CAMPUS

VETERANS’ DAY TOILETRY DRIVE

To help Lake County Veterans in need, WTHS is organizing a toiletry drive November 12-16.  Please bring in toiletries or cleaning products to help out local Veterans.  Some examples include soap, shampoo, toothbrushes, disposable razors, shaving cream, Kleenex, & toilet paper. There is a large collection box outside the main office here at Almond.   For more information, see your social studies teacher. (Zaban)

ALLIANCE AGAINST INTOXICATED MOTORISTS PRESENTATION

Good morning, The Alliance Against Intoxicated Motorists victim services will be presenting a victim impact panel presentation today in the Black Box theater during 5th and 6th period. Students with 5th and 6th period lunch or study hall are more than welcome to attend! Hope to see you there! (Tragarz)

COLLEGE PLANNING FOR JUNIORS

Juniors, in exactly one year from now, the majority of you will have submitted an application to college. What college will that application be for? How do you even start this whole process of deciding where to apply and will you be ready? It's time for you to start this process and the counselors are here to help. You can attend one of the six, yes, six, presentations that are offered today, Thursday, November 8th. For students only, the counselors will present during the lunch periods, so bring your lunch and a friend! For students and parents, they are offering two presentations, one here at Almond in room 211 at 3:00pm and one at O'Plaine in the auditorium at 7:00pm. In the evening presentation, Warren welcomes guest speaker, Scott Seigel, Senior Admissions Director from Indiana University to discuss the college planning process and what you need to be doing now as juniors to prepare. Take it from the seniors, don't put this off! (Ecklund)

 FILM CLUB INTEREST MEETING

The Warren Student Film Club will hold their second interest meeting today in room 122 at the Almond Campus. Members will discuss roles such as script-writing, editing, and cinematography; and plans for this year’s season. The meeting will be from 2:30 to 3:30. JOSTENS CAP & GOWN / ANNOUNCEMENT PACKET PICK UP

Jostens will be at the Almond Campus on Monday, November 12, during all lunch periods to hand out cap and gown packets that will include ordering information. Please stop by the Jostens table outside of the cafeteria during your lunch period to pick-up a packet on Monday, November 12. Extra packets will be available in Room 204 and at the front office reception desk if they are not picked up on November 12. Jostens will return to collect orders November 19-21.
