The Academic Recovery Class (ARC) is a resource program that provides academic support and mentoring for students who are not receiving Special Education services. Assistance such as tutoring, basic skills, study skills, goal setting, organizational strategies, credit recovery, and life skills are provided to the students enrolled in the program. Students enrolled in the program attend ARC for one period out of the school day. At the O’Plaine Campus, services are provided to second year students who have failed multiple classes with the emphasis being on academic support and mentoring. At the Almond Campus, services are provided to students who need academic support along with an emphasis on credit recovery. Counselors, with the assistance of teachers, social workers, and administrators, identify the students for placement in ARC.
