Athletics Activities Registration

We have several competitive activities, which are those that often require a try-out or audition process and are very time intensive. These activities travel throughout the conference, region, state and sometimes nation to compete.

Competitive activity programs require participants to register prior to the first day of practice or auditions. Please click on the Athletic & Activities Registration link to get started.

Academic Team--Scholastic Bowl	Academic Team is open to students of all grade levels who are interested in competing academically for our high school. It is a team competition where students are asked questions in the following areas: literature, history, geography, fine arts, current events, math, science, sports, and even entertainment. The varsity team is comprised of juniors and seniors, while the freshmen and sophomores are on the JV team. Participants must be quick as well as knowledgeable. Academic Team meets every Wednesday beginning in October and continuing through February. All participants must be registered online prior to the first practice. FIRST Robotics		Sarah Veselack	This activity has a $100 registration fee.
Math Team (Mathletes)	Math Team competes as a part of NSML, the North Suburban Math League of Illinois. We compete in 5 meets starting in September. Math Team is open to new members at all times and has weekly Thursday practice in room 320 starting at 3:20 pm at the OP campus. Science Olympiad	Science Olympiad is a competition in which students will participate in several events ranging across all branches of science. We meet once per week and have 3-4 competitions throughout the season. Science Olympiad is open to all grade levels. Tryouts are at the start of the school year, and the season goes year round.	golson@wths.net jgray@wths.net	This activity has a $50 registration fee.
Speech Team	Speech Team is a fun and competitive IHSA activity that involves acting and/ or public speaking. The team is comprised of students who are looking to grow as an actor or public speaker. Students compete at the Novice, JV and Varsity levels. Auditions take place the first week in October, and the season runs from October through February. Practices take place 2-3 days a week. Winter Color Guard	Winter Guard holds auditions in late fall and competes during the winter. Check the web page and listen to announcements for more information.	Jeanette Johnson	Online registration prior to the first practice. Winter Color Guard is a Competitive Activity with a full schedule of competitions. The participation fee is $50.
